Source methodology
Provenance over conclusions.
ApplySafer uses the Companies House company number as its canonical company identity. Companies House records are refreshed only for companies already present or followed in ApplySafer, on bounded schedules. We retain only the necessary company profile facts, source reference, retrieval time, and expiry information.
Official decisions
Employment Tribunal and court decision candidates may come only from official GOV.UK Employment Tribunal decisions or National Archives Find Case Law sources. A reviewer must verify the exact entity, link, decision date, reference or title, and neutral summary before an item appears in the separate Official decisions panel.
Cyber and regulatory evidence
Potential cyber/security evidence is limited to official company statements, regulatory notices, or NCSC advisories that expressly name the company. News reports, social posts, breach dumps, researcher posts, and user allegations are not confirmed evidence. Public labels use precise source-backed wording, such as Verified official disclosure. Material may be incomplete and its absence does not establish that no event occurred.
AI assistance
AI may help organise duplicate candidates, extract neutral metadata, or draft reviewer-facing notes. It does not decide truth, publication, legal outcomes, entity matching, or a company risk score. Any public AI-assisted summary requires human approval and displays its source.
